How do I
create my site?
You can
build your pages with any of the variety of web authoring software
available. There are various free applications that can be found
by searching the Internet.
How do I
view my site?
If your
email account has a panhandle.net extension, the address of
your page is http://members.panhandle.net/username,
where username is your dial-up username without the @panhandle.net.

How do I
upload my site?
with your dial-up e-mail address and password. (For example, if
your e-mail address is jellofish@panhandle.net, your
username for your members site is jellofish@panhandle.net.)
- Once
you have logged in correctly, you will be presented with a
page that lists all the files you have uploaded and a form
at the bottom to let you upload files from your computer.
- To begin
uploading your web page, press the Browse button. This
will bring up a window that will allow you to select a file
to upload. Browse to the directory of the page you would like
to upload. Note: Your main page must be named index.htm.
- Once
you have selected the file, hit the Open button.
- The window
will disappear and your file will have been put in the form.
- Hit the
Upload button. This may take a few seconds, depending
on the size of the file. Remember, that if it takes too
long to upload, it will take just as long to view. We
recommend that graphic files be no larger than 48K.
- Repeat
these steps for each file. Be sure to upload all of the graphics
files with the web page. Note: For most users, it will
be necessary to place all of your files in the same directory
on your computer.
If you want
to create subdirectories, there is a button at the bottom for
that purpose. If you do not know what a subdirectory is, then
just ignore this option. After you upload all of the files,
which includes both the .HTM pages and the graphics (.GIF,
.JPG, etc.), you will see a list of the files you have
uploaded. To view any of these files, simply click on the link.
You can delete a file you have uploaded with the Delete
button to the right of the file you would like to delete.
